Meditation from a Celebration of Right Human Relations Day

I would like to read from a book something that has been written about 'goodwill' and 'will-to-good'. As you remember perhaps, goodwill is a quality within Right Human Relations that stimulates a whole group of humanity: those of humanity called ‘children of goodwill’. Then we have 'will-to-good' which is a quality (also within Right Human Relations) that is governing the World Server group of disciples; whereas goodwill is the quality needed to enter into the New World Server group. Let me read to you: ‘The result of the world war, of disease, famine and pain, has developed a spirit of community in suffering and in deprivation; this has led to a consequent understanding participation in human difficulties everywhere which is rapidly changing into a spirit of world goodwill. This world-wide goodwill, when truly established and correctly organized, is the needed preliminary to revelation, for this coming revelation will be a planetary revelation, shared by all men everywhere. Unitedly all men realise, even today, the need to rise out of the prison of self-interest into the freedom of shared opportunity, and the factor which will bring about this resurrection is goodwill.’ [i] I just want to read another little paragraph: ‘Goodwill is contagious; once a definite start has been made in a pure and disinterested spirit, goodwill will permeate the world, and right human relations will be rapidly established.’ [ii] ‘Goodwill is man's first attempt to express the love of God. Its results on Earth will be peace. It is so simple and practical that people fail to appreciate its potency or its scientific and dynamic effect. One person sincerely practising goodwill in a family can completely change its attitudes. Goodwill freely practised among groups in any nation, by political and religious parties in any nation and among the nations of the world can revolutionise the world.’[iii] We are going to work in this meditation with the quality called ‘goodwill’; merge with the New World Server group and the old World Server group; and work with the Lord Jesus who stands for the Right Human Relations principles in this world. Now close your eyes and be ready to enter into meditation. I want you to relax your mind and body with three breaths, deep breaths. Relax body and mind. Breathe in the way you like the best. Try to relax, with every breath you take, the body which is always tense if it hasn't learnt to relax properly on deeper levels because of life on Earth being very stressful, and for many, difficult. Here you can de-stress. For a moment, just try to relax. Listen to the music. Get into a state of consciousness which is peaceful and open – open to the inner worlds and impressions of the soul. Just mentally affirm, 'I am at peace. I am at peace. I am at peace'. In our hearts, we link up with all people of goodwill globally. We link up in our hearts and minds with the World Server group consisting of initiates and disciples. Let us for a moment feel the oneness, how we all come together in this effort. On Earth there are millions of people of goodwill. The energy of goodwill shall remake, rebuild and rehabilitate the Earth. Let us now send the quality of goodwill all over the planet Earth. Relax and just be used as vehicles. Focus your attention on the quality of goodwill. In the energy of goodwill, all self-interest is leaving you. It dissipates. In that consciousness, the Christ can bring forth the Right Human Relations principles to a needy world. You can feel what the energy of goodwill does. Materialism dissipates. Selfishness dissipates. There is only one quality in goodwill - the will to serve - and the goodness of God is within it. As you learn in Theosophy that God is good, you feel that totally in this energy you have now. Feel it. God is good. People who serve with this energy go beyond duty. They go to higher levels, formless levels where only love rules, governs, heals, teaches. I want you to mentally affirm: ‘God is good. I am good.’ Mentally affirm that. Keep repeating within yourself: ‘God is good. I am good.’ Every human being who has good within, responds to this energy of goodwill. The energy of goodwill creates in human beings, self-sacrifice, acceptance, surrender, cooperation, willingness, loyalty, gratitude, self-healing, and numerous other good qualities. The more you relax, the more you can feel this energy of goodwill spreading throughout your levels of being. You no longer feel separate from other souls, but you feel the oneness. God is good. You are good. You feel invigorated, revitalised. You feel whole and strengthened. Through the energy of goodwill, you will always be prepared to face problems face-on, face-to-face with the world and the people in it. Before we complete this meditation, I will send the energy of revelation, and you will interpret the revelation in your own way. Open your mind and heart. Open your soul. Think of your soul opening arms to receive the revelation, first as an energy – formless; then as an energy with form; then as an image in your mind. The new revelation, the new Jerusalem and Jesus of Jerusalem, as the Lord of Peace, comes forth. The Lord Jesus is part of the New Revelation. May He bless all the Earth. We have all accumulated guilt in past incarnations and in the present. Now let the energy of goodwill dissipate that guilt. The energy could keep on all day, but I think that we have to stop now. We could be sitting in this energy for hours and hours. but unfortunately, we live in a world with time and duties. You have to go back to work, or start work. But in the future when you meditate, just think about becoming instruments for the energy of goodwill. Just relax and let it move throughout your inner bodies and out into the world. Let us all return to our physical bodies in the chairs; and feel back in your home which is your body. Before we leave each other, I would like to tell you about an interesting thing. I looked at the Great Invocation – the first stanza from October 1939 at the beginning of the war – where the Christ says: ‘Let the Forces of Light bring illumination to all mankind. Let the Spirit of Peace be spread abroad. May men of goodwill everywhere meet in a spirit of cooperation. May forgiveness on the part of all men be the keynote at this time. Let power attend the efforts of the Great Ones. So let it be and help us to do our part.’ [iv] That was at the start of the second World War when the Lord Christ sent those words out about forgiveness, illumination and peace. The second stanza was given in 1940: ‘Let the Lords of Liberation issue forth. Let Them bring succour to the sons of men. Let the Rider from the secret Place come forth, And coming, save. Come forth, O Mighty One.’ [v] That is the Avatar of Will, who came in 1986. ‘Let the souls of men awaken to the Light. And may they stand with massed intent. Let the fiat of the Lord go forth: The end of woe has come! Come forth, O Mighty One. The hour of service of the Saving Force has now arrived. Let it be spread abroad, O Mighty One.’ [vi] The Mighty One is the Avatar of Will, the Avatar of Synthesis, who was invoked to come and help the Hierarchy; and it could be done if every one of the disciples and people of goodwill stood with massed intent in their minds, which they must have done, or it could not have happened. ‘Let Light and Love and Power and Death Fulfil the purpose of the Coming One. The Will to save is here. The Love to carry forth the work is widely spread abroad. The Active Aid of all who know the truth is also here. Come forth, O Mighty One and blend these three. Construct a great defending wall. The rule of evil now must end.’ [vii] That is when it started. In 1940, the Hierarchy invoked the Avatar of Will who came energy-wise with the Will, the Love, and the Action - the three departments of the Hierarchy. Because of that energy, the Hierarchy managed to win the war in 1942. It took however, three more years to stop it on the physical level. The third stanza is the one you know. It was written in 1945 and some years ago I got what I call the ‘fourth stanza’, where the Lord Maitreya is actively invoked as the Redeemer. The Lord of Will, the Avatar of Will, has come - is still coming. These stanzas obviously do not take too many years to have an effect. So, that that's a very interesting thing about the stanzas and the effect they have, when they are either read aloud or invoked by groups. I found something interesting explaining this: ‘There is only one way in which this focussed evil will which is responsive to the Shamballa force can be overcome, and that is by the opposition of an equally focussed spiritual Will, displayed by responsive men and women of goodwill who can train themselves to be sensitive to this type of new incoming energy and can learn how to invoke and evoke it.’[viii] That is what you are taught through the Lord Maitreya’s work in the Fellowship. This is the Lord DK who speaks: ‘You can consequently see why there was more than the casual use of a current word in my mind when the terms of goodwill and of the will-to-good were discussed. All the time I had in my thoughts not just kindness and good intention, but the focussed will-to-good which can and must evoke the Shamballa energy, and use it for the arresting of the forces of evil.’ [ix] At this birthday, I will read to you a sutra from Bhagavad Gita where the Avatar, the always-coming Avatar, explains that whenever there is total confusion and chaos, in order to arrest the forces of evil, He must come. That is the time we live in. The Avatar of Will, the Lord of Synthesis, has come to arrest the forces of evil. Even though many people do not like the Shamballa force, the energy, they will have to learn to love it, because that is the only way we can get dynamic peace on the planet. That was our little celebration for Right Human Relations Day, and we go from celebration to celebration. We go into tomorrow, when we have a lovely party. But beyond all parties, there is a purpose, and the purpose is that at certain parties, when they have a certain purpose, the Hierarchy appears. That is why we have the parties. They like parties. As you have noticed, They come every time we open our mouths and sing. We will continue to sing at the celebration tomorrow and be with the Hierarchy. Never get used to being with the Hierarchy and think it is just an ‘everyday thing’. It is absolutely not an ‘everyday thing’. It is just that here it has become an ‘everyday thing’ but it is not an ‘everyday’ thing out there. Yes – have a happy day. I’ll see you soon.
